RCC Matters - Summer 2015

Long summer days, hot and balmy weather. Just right for messing about in boat. And aren’t we just. Whether it’s up in   Skye; at Flamborough Head; on the river at Barrow; on the reservoir in Rutland; or on the Alley Alley O, we’re paddling, training, learning, racing, working hard but above all enjoying ourselves…..

RCC Matters - Spring 2015

Well what an action packed winter we’ve had – awards; Bonfire Night Paddle; paddling excitement on reservoir and river and Sarah O inching ever closer to the penultimate leg of her round the world expedition – the solo row across the Atlantic Ocean.

Many thanks to all who have contributed words and to Mike Cockerlll for the photos that accompany all of the attached features apart from Sarah’s expedition.

RCC Matters - Autumn 2013

Ahhh the summer of 2013 – when the sky was always blue and the sun always shone; when every kitbag contained a tube of sun cream and a sunhat; and when every paddler wore a smile.

A busy one too with a National BCU Award; 2* and First Aid certificates; a RCC member the first person to have rowed solo from Japan to Alaska; high jinks on the Nene and in the white foamy water of Holme Pierrepont; and fun with the birds in Mull………………Read on here.

RCC Matters - Spring 2011

Winter has come and gone and the signs of spring are definitely with us. I do love the sounds and sights of this time of year particularly the new lambs!

We have had two exciting trips away so far this year and further afield club members have been making a splash too.

RCC Matters - Winter 2010

The summer turned into autumn and now we are mid-way through winter. Once again the snow and cold has returned with a vengence to Rutland but true to our reputation, none of this has stopped the members of Rutland Canoe Club having fun.

Check out tales of Mull, fireworks, ice and medals in the latest newsletter. And the Limpopo ALLIGATOR!!!
